Mawlana Jalaladdeen Rumi or Rumi for short, a spiritual master and poet of the late 13th century, has enjoyed enormous popularity in the U.S. recently. The sema ceremony is one of the most important heritage of Turkish Culture as a tradition of 800 years old. This unique traditional ritual had been proclaimed as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005.
Hodjapasha Culture Center
This new center is recently converted from a 550-year-old historical Turkish Bath called Hoca Pasa Bath. also known as Hoca Sinan Pasa Bath. It was built by Hoca Sinan Pasa who was a teacher and later vizier to Fatih Sultan Mehmet during the 1470’s.
It was a double bath for both men and women. It is comparatively a big math with a high dome, made of cut stone and also corner walls are designed like a peacock tail. This building served as a Turkish bath till 1988.
