About this tour

Discover the awe-inspiring marvel of Greek architectural secrets embedded in stone formations. The Sumela Monastery, an embodiment of Greek heritage nestled among the rocky landscapes, beckons you to explore and immerse yourself in the cultural tapestry it weaves into the rich heritage of the Black Sea region.

We will collect you from your centrally located hotel at 14:00. Our initial destination is our facility situated in the heart of Maçka, offering an opportunity for various activities and a 20-minute tea break.

Following this, we will pause for a picturesque moment at the Asmalı Bridge along the Sümela road route before commencing our journey to the Sümela Monastery. Perched 300 meters above the valley, the monastery is located within the Altındere National Park area, approximately 15 km from the center of Maçka. The monastery tour, lasting about 1.5 hours, will provide insights into its historical significance.

After the lunch break, our next destination is the Aya Varvara Church (Kızlar Monastery Church). We pause for a photo break at the breathtaking Karadağ Waterfall, ranked among the fastest-flowing waterfalls globally. Subsequently, we enjoy free time by the Çoşandere rivers and indulge in a leisurely lunch. Departure is scheduled for 14:00, and we will return to Trabzon.
